How do antioxidants help with hyperpigmentation?
Exposure to sun and pollution causes free radicals, which can promote an increase in melanin production, leading to dark spots. Antioxidants help neutralize free radicals and prevent them from causing damage. Some antioxidants like vitamin C also inhibit tyrosinase, which is an enzyme that can stimulate melanin production.
