FAQ
Do I really need an eye cream?
Eye creams are specifically formulated for the delicate eye area. If your concern is only dryness, your face moisturizer might be sufficient, but often the eye area needs something richer and more hydrating. Additionally, eye creams are usually packed with free radical-fighting antioxidants, (Triple Action Eye Serum) peptides, (Emepelle Eye Cream) and other essential ingredients needed to reduce signs of aging and keep your skin healthy.
Will an eye cream get rid of my dark circles?
Eye products may not permanently correct under eye dark circles; however, they can dramatically improve under eye skin integrity and the appearance of dark circles. Under eye dark circles have two main causes. One cause is vascular leakage which tends to be blue or purple in color; the other cause is hyperpigmentation which is a darkening of the natural skin color in the under-eye area. Additionally, puffiness can cast shadows which can be an indirect cause of dark circles. Factors such as sleep loss, allergies, and heredity can contribute to their level of visibility. Eye creams with ingredients designed to address dark circles and puffiness (Triple Action Eye Serum) are a great way to reduce their appearance. Look for things like plant extracts (Emepelle Eye Cream) to help strengthen the vascular network, inhibitors of pigment production to brighten (Triple Action Eye Serum) under the eye, or light diffusers and tints (Tensage Radiance Eye Cream) to reflect light and mask dark circles. Also, certain peptides can have the ability to reduce puffiness (Triple Action Eye Serum) and strengthen (Emepelle Eye Serum) the delicate skin around the eyes. For an intense targeted treatment, try an eye mask (Hydragel Eye Patches) for quick results.
When should I start using an eye cream?
Most people start using eye creams when they see lines around their eyes. Even if you don’t see anything now, starting to use an eye cream before you see wrinkles will help maintain the appearance of your skin as you age. There are many factors that cause the skin around the eyes to age faster, including lifestyle choices, dehydration, sun exposure, weather, and even laughing and smiling. Eye creams can help minimize signs of aging from these factors. So, at what age should you start using an eye cream? Starting in your 20s is ideal, but it is never too late to start!
I heard you really only need to apply eye cream at night. Is that true?
The skin around your eyes is more vulnerable to what you are exposed to every day. Pollution, sweat, and the grime of daily life can have a big impact on your skin and accelerate aging. Eye cream should be applied in the morning and at night so you can get the most out of it. While you are sleeping, your skin regenerates and repairs itself. It also absorbs and uses products better while you’re sleeping. Eye cream is highly concentrated with nutrients, so it will be super nourishing and restorative to help you look refreshed and bright-eyed the next day!
